How is Courtesy Pay different from Overdraft Protections?

Courtesy Pay is a non-contractual service which allows qualified accounts to go negative in order to pay an item. Automatic Overdraft Protection is a contractual agreement which transfers funds from another account you have at the credit union in order to pay an item.
