1. To Enter:
The Sweepstakes begins January 1, 2009 and ends December 31,
2009 (“Sweepstakes Period”). To enter, simply complete
a Member Referral Card/Form (“Entry Form”)
available at any BrightStar Credit Union branch or online at
www.bscu.org/sharethelove. Hand the Entry Form to
a family member, friend, co-worker or neighbor eligible for
credit union membership (if they live, work or attend school
in Broward or Palm Beach County, Florida). Direct the new member
to visit any BrightStar Credit Union branch to open their account.
Once the new member account is opened, both the referring member
and the new member will be entered into the sweepstakes. The Entry
Form must be presented at the time the account is opened.
Members may refer as many new members as they wish; however,
a separate Entry Form must be completed for each referred
new member. Accounts may also be opened via mail by contacting
BrightStar Credit Union’s Member Service Center at 954-486-2728
or by visiting us online at www.bscu.org. If the account is
opened via mail, an Entry Form must be included with
the new member application. Entries become the property of
BrightStar Credit Union and will not be returned.
To Enter Without Referring a New Member: Hand-print
your name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number,
BrightStar CU member number and the words “Member Referral
Program” on a 3”x5” card and mail in an envelope
to: BrightStar Credit Union, Attn. Marketing Dept., P.O. Box
8966, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33310-8966. BrightStar Credit Union
must receive all mail-in entries no later than December 31, 2009.
Enter as often as you wish; however, only one entry per stamped
envelope will be accepted. No mechanical reproductions permitted.
Entries become the property of BrightStar Credit Union and will
not be returned.
2. Eligibility:
Sweepstakes is open to all BrightStar Credit Union members
in good standing, eligible per Credit Union policy, who are eighteen
(18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers,
directors, and representatives of BrightStar Credit Union and
immediate family members (spouse and parents, siblings and children
and their spouses) and persons living in the same households
of each of the above are ineligible. Void where prohibited by
law. All Federal, State, and local laws apply.
3. Selection of Winners:
One (1) random drawing will be held each month during
the Sweepstakes Period. A total of Twelve (12) random drawings
will be conducted for this Sweepstakes. Random drawings will
be held on or about February 2, 2009, March 2, 2009, April 1
, 2009, May 1, 2009, June 1, 2009, July 1, 2009,
August 3, 2009, September 1, 2009, October 1, 2009, November
2, 2009, December 1, 2009, and January 4 , 2010. There will be
two prize winners per random drawing – one (1) prize will
be awarded to the referring member and one (1) prize will be
awarded to the new member.
4. Prizes: Twenty-four (24) $250 Cash Prizes:
Two (2) $250 cash prizes will be awarded each month
during the sweepstakes period – one (1) $250 cash prize
will be awarded to the referring member and one (1) $250 cash
prize will be awarded to the new member. Cash prizes will be
automatically deposited into the member’s savings account.
Selected winners will be notified by mail, telephone, or e-mail
on or about the drawing date. In the event a selected winner
is unreachable or cannot accept the prize for any reason, the
selected winner may forfeit the prize and an alternate winner
may be selected from the remaining eligible entries. The total
value of the prizes to be awarded is $6,000.00. No transfer or
substitution of prize permitted by winner. Federal, State, and
local taxes are responsibility of prize winner. Odds of winning
will depend upon the number of entries received.
5. General Conditions:
By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to
be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges,
which are final in all respects. By entering, entrants agree and
acknowledge that BrightStar Credit Union and its employees, officers,
and directors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for:
(i) late, lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate,
or illegible entries; (ii) any injuries, losses or damages of any
kind caused by the prize or resulting from acceptance, possession
or use or misuse of any prize or from participating in the Sweepstakes;
or (iii) postage-due mail, any printing, typographical, administrative
or technological errors in any material associated with the Sweepstakes.
BrightStar
Credit Union reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
modify, cancel or suspend this Sweepstakes should any cause or
problem corrupt or inhibit the administration, security or proper
operation of the Sweepstakes and, in such situation, to select
the winner from entries received prior to the action taken or
in such manner as deemed fair and appropriate by BrightStar Credit
Union. BrightStar Credit Union may use winner's name, likeness
and city name for promotional purposes without additional compensation,
except where prohibited by law.
6. Winners List:
For the name of the Prize Winners, available after 12/31/09,
send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: BrightStar Credit Union,
Attn: Winner's List, P.O. Box 8966, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33310-8966.
The winners list will be sent when all drawings have been conducted
and all winners have been verified. Requests must be received by
February 28, 2010. Please specify "Member Referral Program Winners
List."
